BUY A WEBSITE
When you create a new website you need to buy two products:
DOMAIN NAME: www.domainname.com. You buy this from a REGISTRAR COMPANY.
HOSTING SPACE: This is the physical digital space to store the files for the website. You buy this from a HOSTING COMPANY.
CONNECT BOTH PRODUCTS
REGISTAR COMPANY: You have a DNS field < enter the IP number here.
HOSTING COMPANY: You receive an IP number.
If you buy both products from the same company, the Domain Name and the Hosting Space should be already connected and you will only have to pay one company instead of two. We recommend www.godaddy.com to buy both products.
TECHNICAL
DOMAIN NAME: Google prefers domain names registered for more than one year and try to use your keywords in your domain name as this is very important for Google SEO.
HOSTING SPACE: Ask for, Space: 100 MBytes (normally more than enough), Operating System: Linux (more reliable and cheaper than Windows), Server side programming: PHP minimum version 5 (free) and Data Bases: MySQL (free and open source database).
ACCESSES
Your Hosting company has to provide you with the url + login + password to access:
• CLIENT AREA: To manage your Products (Domain and Hosting) and Payments.
• CONTROL PANEL: To manage your contents, such as MySQL Data Bases.
• FTP: To manage the files of your website.
